1. The Promoters
a. The promoters are RMP Enterprise Ltd of Unit 1.01 Piano House Brighton Terrace, London, SW9 8DJ, United Kingdom, and The University of Law, 2 Bunhill Row, London EC1Y 8HQ, United Kingdom.
2. The competition
a. The Two Laws, One Lie is hosted on the Unioflaw-twolawsonelie.com. This competition consists of students signing up and answering ‘true or false’ questions on which UK laws are real or made up.
b. By entering this competition, you are indicating that you have read and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.
3. How to enter
a. The competition will run from 12:00pm GMT on 9th September 2024 to 5:00pm BST on 30th November 2024 inclusive.
b. All competition entries must be received by means of this website no later than 5:00pm BST on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
c. To enter the competition, submit the online entry form provided on this website by the Closing Date.
d. No purchase is necessary and there is no charge to register for use of the website.
e. The Promoters will not accept:
i.responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
ii. proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
f. By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
4. Eligibility
a. The competition is only open to all residents in the UK (excluding Northern Ireland) aged 16 years or older at the date of entry who are in current full-time study during the 2024/2025 academic year at a UK higher education institution recognised by the government as a degree-awarding body and listed here. Or at a sixth form or college education institution recognised by the government. Proof may be required to claim the prize.
b. The following are not eligible to enter:
i. any person who does not meet the eligibility criteria above;
ii. employees of the Promoters or its holding or subsidiary companies;
iii. employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoters or their holding or subsidiary or sister companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
iv. members of the immediate families or households of (b) and (c) above.
c. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoters may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
d. The Promoters will not accept competition entries that are:
i. automatically generated by computer;
ii. completed by third parties or in bulk; or
iii. incomplete.
e. There is a limit of one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
f. The Promoters reserve all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.
g. Competition entries cannot be returned. If you would like to save your entry, please print a copy before submitting it.
5. The prize
a. If you sign up, you will be put into a monthly prize draw to win a prize worth up to £500. One winner will be chosen at random every Month on the final Friday of the Month of September, October, and November 2024, then February, March April of the second competition period.
i. The prizes for this competition will be a technology gift card of choice of a value of £500 for each winner.
ii. The winners will be selected at random by a number generator from the entries that have been received so far. The vouchers will be sent via email to the lucky winners.
iii. Prizes are subject to availability. The Promoters reserve the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
iv. The prize is not negotiable or transferable.
v. The Promoters will not replace any lost, damaged, mutilated or stolen prizes. All taxes, costs, liabilities and unspecified expenses associated with the usage of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winners.
vi. The gift card cannot be redeemed for cash or an alternative prize, are non-exchangeable, non-refundable, cannot be resold and will only be awarded directly to the winners.
6. Winners
a. The decision of the Promoters is final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
b. We’ll contact winners using the email address provided with the competition entry, as soon as practicable, and winners will have 7 days to get back to us to confirm acknowledgment of their win, otherwise your claim will become invalid and we’ll approach another winner. In order to claim the prize, you must reply to the email sent.
c. Prizes will be sent via email within 7 working days from the date of the Promoters receiving the winners’ prize acceptance.
d. The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
e. The Promoters do not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
7. Limitation of liability
a. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoters, their agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoters, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
8. Data protection and publicity
a. The Promoters will only process your personal information as set out in the Privacy Policy.
9. General
a. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoters may, at their sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
b. The Promoters reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
c. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
